About

students in lab

University of Washington’s Master of Science in Applied Chemical Science & Technology program was created to meet a growing need for professionals with advanced, hands-on training in quantitative chemical analysis and informatics. The first cohort graduated in 2021.

Our program prepares our students well for the next step in their careers. Many graduates work in industry or research, and others continue on to Ph.D. programs in the United States and around the world. See where our alumni are now.

The program is offered by the UW Department of Chemistry, a state-of-the-art center of graduate education and research in chemistry, with 45 nationally and internationally recognized faculty.

A self-sustaining, fee-based degree, the Master of Science in Applied Chemical Science & Technology is administered in partnership with UW Continuum College, which extends the reach of the UW with a range of online and on-campus programs for working professionals and other learners of all ages.
